Poor Word Choice Or BAD Judgment?

Advocates of the president's Sotomayor nomination have defended the nominee's 2001 statement that,

"I would hope that a wise Latina woman with the richness of her experiences would more often than not reach a better conclusion than a white male who hasn't lived that life."

Their argument: it's being spun out of context. Well, Steve Chapman does an excellent job of revealing the context of that statement. And, it's worse!
