Happiness is Contagious

Here's a nice bit of news...since good news seems to be quite rare of late...

Strangers can help make you happy...because happiness is contagious :)

This may be more information about myself than anybody reading this ever wanted to know, but I am severely depressed most of my waking life. I know better than to burden the readers here with details as to why that is, but I bring this up for a reason.

Dennis Prager devotes one hour every week to this subject of happiness. One thing he says over and over again, is how happiness is a choice. Or, as President Lincoln said, "I have found that people are about as happy as they make up their minds to be."

So what do I do when I am feeling down? I watch something funny (Jackie Mason, Richard Jeni, Evan Sayet) on youTube or even check out a comedy DVD from the library where I work. I listen to music that I both enjoy and feel inspired by. I look into the cute faces of and hold any one of my four incredibly adorable, super sweet pet rabbits.

In other words, I take action to alter my mood. This does not always work, since a lot of my despondency is related to my lack of doing the things I need to do to make my life a more productive and meaningful one. Still, just lifting my mood through such methods, sometimes gives me enough energy to get more things done.
