Mr Obama, YOU don't get it!
We will select our next president the day after tomorrow.
I have a confession to make....I have been extremely frustrated and concerned as a result of the Obama campaign rhetoric lately. And, there's a good chance that in two days, he'll be President Elect Obama. So, since this is my last show before the election, I have to get a few things off my chest because I believe that I'm not alone in my concern for our nation, its sovereignty, its identity and its very foundation...So...In this hour together, I'm going to propose the change we REALLY need in this country. You can call me and tell me if you think I'm wrong...the number in advance is:
There is no debate that we need change in our country. The question is what kind of change we need. Last Thursday, Barack Obama said that he plans to "fundamentally transform the United States of America" at a rally in Columbia, Missouri.
There is a huge difference between "change you can believe in" and "fundamentally transforming the United States of America."
Immigrants are NOT risking their lives every year in order to come to a country that is fundamentally flawed, Mr. Obama. You, sir, are the one who does-not-get-it.
You know what kind of change we need? Change that brings us closer to our foundations-closer to the fundamentals of this great country. What made us great-even with our major flaws-was the principles of limited government and individual liberties as a nation under God.
Yes, a nation under God. It is Judeo-Christian principles that allow for religious freedom for everyone. Does that mean every American is tolerant/accepting of all religions. Of course not. But our government treats all individual equally regardless of their religion.
No, Mr. Obama, we are not a Muslim nation because Muslim nations don't offer equality to other religions. Instead, they offer 2nd class citizenship-at best!-to non-Muslims. They also offer persecution, torture and death to those who oppose them. It's why I continue to have relatives emigrate here from Egypt to this day.
And, no, Mr. Obama, it's not a Hindu nation, as the caste system is another hierarchical system that could not be further from the dignity and the freedom that are inherent in the God-given inalienable rights described in the Declaration of Independence.
Being a nation of Judeo-Christian roots doesn't mean that everyone is Jewish or Christian. It means that everyone's rights come from God and can't be taken away by the State, or by any man.
As a matter of fact, when we have blown it as a nation, it has been a result of abandoning the fundamental principles of our nation. Thomas Jefferson said, "That government is best which governs least."
When we have failed-with slavery, Japanese internment an even our current economic crisis. Our failure is a consequence of straying from our first principles.
When Americans simply appreciate and respect the roots of our nation's greatness, you look down your nose and mock them as "clinging to their guns and religion."
But, you don't get it, Sen Obama. We need change, alright...a change in attitude towards the constitution and the roots that have created the opportunities that allowed you to become the now presumptive winner of Election 2008.
If you think that this country is so messed up, a source of problems in the world-and if you believe your mentor and advisor of 20 years, then why would you want to represent this country. You must be sick to want to be the First Citizen of such a terrible country. If you don't believe that, then what do you like about our nation....besides yourself?!

I have a tendency to assume the worst, to worry myself into my high blood pressure, but I think I may finally have a ray of hope about tomorrow's critically important elections. I am encouraged by the fact that I have apparently been completely misinterpreting the RealClearPolitics website. The way I had been looking at it, particularly its Battleground State section, it seemed viritually impossible for Hero to beat Thug.
However, now that I realize I have not been looking at things right, I see that all that Hero needs to do to beat Thug, is to win in Ohio, Virginia, and Florida. In all three cases, Hero is extremely close to beating Thug, and already is, according to some polls.
As for Lores' remarks above, there is no question that our country is in trouble, regardless of tomorrow's election results. I think the major problem is that we have lost touch with the vision of government seen by our Founding Fathers. We need to return to those teachings.
Well, based on Russell Kirk's classic book, the Conservative Mind, and some other sources (such as, I seem to recall, conservative sociology professor Robert Nisbet), the paragon of American conservatism, the one who most adopted the philosophy of Edmund Burke, was President John (not Quincy) Adams. So what I think all of us, me included, need to do, is to study John Adams' life, thoughts, and work, to truly understand what America was meant to be.
