Fair and Balanced Debate?

It turns out that the moderator for tomorrow night's Vice Presidential debate has a pro-Obama book coming out in a couple of months...I don't believe that this fact guarantees unfairness as she moderates. However, it demands professionalism and journalistic integrity. There's no way to judge until the show starts tomorrow night.

Grete Van Susteren of Fox News suggests that the equivalent of this set up in court would be declared a mistrial. And, in reality, if the moderator were a journalist who'd written a pro-McCain book to be released in January, we'd be hearing cries from throughout the mainstream media calling (rightfully so) for the journalist to recuse himself/herself. Not here. Not now. Silence from the mainstream is what we're hearing instead. Surprising? Not in the least!
