Something is wrong when Islam scares commies. I just can't believe that.

This is the epic battle of our time. And as a conservative, at least I am on the right side of this war.

I'm sure I'm going to regret this later, but can someone explain to me how political correctness is leading to a rise of radical Islam?

Mike: It's the combination of political correctness and the rise of radical Islam. They make more demands and the West bows down to every demand in the name of being culturally "sensitive."

It's a dangerous combination.

Lores: I see where you're coming from. In that context, it could pose concerns in the sense of a group of radical Muslims (well, honestly, a group of radical anything) that uses violence as a mode of action colliding with an "anything goes" ideal.
However, having spent some time in England myself, it's my opinion that it's a much deeper. The headline on the article said young muslims at odd with BRITISH values and that's key. England has long suffered under an mode of classism, sexism and segregation that runs deep in the culture. In fact, most of Europe has suffered under that. The attempt at multi-culturalism is an attempt to balance the classes mainly: class can and is dictated by religion. The concept of political correctness means something different in Europe than it does here.
While the argument is made that the ultimate goal for Islam is a global Islamic empire (just as the ultimate goal of Christians is a global Christian empire...if we're being honest), the large Muslim culture in England would be hard-pressed to institute complete Sharia law.
Also, this is just a sect of the larger Islamic population. When idealism meets reality, things tend to get reasonable...at least one hopes so.

mike the liberal must be joking. since when is it inconceivable for invading moslems to impose sharia law over a christian nation? just to cite two examples, both lebanon and the israeli town of bethlehem used to be majority christian, and peaceful places. now both have been taken over by moslems, pushing out the christians through physical intimidation, violence, and outright murder. now those places are living hells. and remember how spain was once controlled by moslems as well. in fact, as bad as they became after a while, the original purpose of the crusades and inquisition was to drive out the moslem invaders from europe, who were trying to forcefully and violently take over europe.
political correctness very directly plays into the hands of the islamofascist terrorists. if all cultures are of equal value, then none have value, any more than a trophy would have value if everybody in the contest received one. such a policy terribly weakens and given culture, making it ripe for an outside, aggressive invader, such as the islamofascists.
this may sound like i am fighting a ferocious tiger with a wet noodle, but in addition to a military solution to our problem, we also need to stop taking our cultural heritage for granted. england must teach the great british classics of literature and teach its older history, not the politically correct way of seeing everything through race/class/gender, but by discussing its eternal moral values. america must do the same; we cannot assume that the average american knows what the Bill of Rights are or what was the great whaling novel written by herman melville.
