Yes, the decadence of the West is bad but even if we were the most pious bunch the jihadists would still attack us. C'mon, did you hear the audio Lores played from the UK Dispatches program. We are the hated kaffirs any which way you cut it. I hope D'Souza gets that, and then does some research by reading the Qu'ran.

It is obvious that DD has no knowledge of islam's texts, beliefs or history. By his own admission, he relied on Bernard Lewis and another source I did not catch.

But it is also obvious that Lores was way over her head in trying to moderate this debate. Her timing was awful. I hope she improves; she sounds like a very nice person.

This D'Souza character strikes me as a eloquent moron, well unawere of history ...etc. G.W.Bush like moron.
As far as I am concerned,ALL religions ARE garbage.
Than there is this constant strugle between them as to who is on the top.(It seems to be islam, the ultimate rubish )Let me just reiterate:There are as many moderate muslims as there were moderate nazis.

I'm requesting that the radio feats be saved as .mp3 format for those of us that have slow net, and are able to get downloadable formats.

Your show is great, Radical islam needs to be controlled.

Best regards.

Thank you all for listening and contributing to the debate. I appreciate the exchange of ideas--as well as the compliments and the criticism.

What's most important to me is that we get the word out. Most of our nation isn't remotely aware of the nature of the war we're in.

Thanks again for listening. For all of you who have visited for the first time, I welcome you and hope you will make this a regular stop on the net and on the radio.

God bless.

Karl points out: ...And, perhaps the exposure to conflicting cultural values carried through movies and the internet give the radical muslims a valuable recruiting tool to use in conjunction with those core texts, teachings and traditions from the Koran and the hadiths.

If this were all that Dinesh had to say I don't think any of us would have been upset. What has most of us bristling is Dinesh's viewpoint that we Americans should join hands with the so-called 'traditional' muslims who are fed up with what they see as immoral American values to essentially bash the American leftists who (in Dinesh's view) promote these immoral values. Not only does Dinesh's suggestion invoke images of a Taliban-style moral police that dictates to all of us what is and isn't moral.. but it also serves to further divide the Western World against the threat of Islam, What is desperately needed, infact, is that we all join hands with each other, irrespective of whether we lean to the left or right, in fighting against the jehad that threatens to destroy us all. Dinesh has some good points to make, both in this and previous talks, but he completely undermines all those good points with this single untenable POV.

Hi, Lores, thanks for the link. I thought it a great debate, both sides have good points. I wanted to ask if you have a link to your personal testimony.

I heard you mention that your father left Egypt due to persecution of Christianity. It was a very dramatic story and I wanted to provide a link that described your experiences on a forum I attend.

Hope to hear from you soon.

Thanks.

probably nobody will read this since there are already so many comments here, but maybe one or two will, and anyway, i enjoy expressing myself here.
first of all, while i realize that all of us feel very passionately about this most important subject of our times, please please please never attack lores rizkalla. her show is superb on many levels, one of which is that her warm, sweet, adorable personality really comes through over the radio airwaves. many of our kind of radio talk show hosts are well informed and intelligent; but how many are as nice as she is? i cannot think of one that comes even close to her in this regard. okay? so no need to turn on her; she did the best she could with those hotheads (spencer/d'souza), so let's treat her with the kindness that she deserves.
now onto the topic at hand. it was hard to keep track of who said what, but i had to laugh at the person who called dinesh d'souza a highly articulate idiot. what a perfect description! i couldn't have said it better myself! d'souza expresses himself so well, as if he has had a harvard education, yet he spews utter nonsense!
we really need to get this straight: there is nothing in our everyday behavior as americans that are causing the moslems to want to destroy us. the only reason they want to destroy us is because we are not crazy 7th century middle eastern mohammedan desert rats like they are. like one person said, even if all of us were albert schweitzers and mother teresas, they would want to destroy us just as much.
the only thing we CAN blame ourselves for is not being strong enough to counter those sub-human animals. the only thing they respect is relentless, brute physical force; anything short of that, makes them mock us and treat us with contempt, encouraging them to attack us further. this is a fight to the finish; we need uncomprosing resolve, or we will be destroyed.

Greetings to my American cousins from the good ole UK(now there`s an oxymoron, almost on a par with French resistance.)Before i go on,being a proud Brit,i feel it`s incumbent of me to point out that you got lucky at Yorktown.Cornwallis was suffering from a virulent bout of cold sores, identifying us wasn`t a problem(we were the ones in red),and lastly, you unashamedly had the French with you. However,i begrudginly accept that you have gone on to bigger and greater achievements, and it`s heart warming that you and the French still retain that mutual trust and affection.
Now,back to the issue at hand, islamic intrasgience. As i type from my bunker,on the outskirts of Londistan,i`m struck by my government`s refusal to quite clearly see what the "Average man in his bunker" can see.As the grand Mufti of Londistan,Ken Livingstone, exhorts the believers to follow his example, and engage in gratuitous bouts of Taqqiyah, the indigenous population is cowed into retience by Tony Bliar`s caliphate. The odious little cleric,George Galloway(remember him?),declares daily fatwas`denying our rights to free speech as "We know not what we sayeth."
They make no secret of what side of islam`s schism they work for, they`re intent on making our lives a Shia bloody misery.
I type amidst the cacophony of roadside bombs, the wailing of imams` calling the believers to prayer(it`s only 1.30pm,have to go through it twice more yet)and the bloodcurdling cries of despair, lamenting the murder of some bloke who died 1400 years ago.
I took the provision of supplying the inhabitants` of my aforementioned bunker with a fresh water supply,i`ve built a well.Gaining access to it though is by no means an easy feat.I find myself constantly having to fight off the believers, who regularly turn up looking for "the 12th imam",or "the Mahdi".. in my well? They remain unconvinced by my explanation that "i`d know if i built a well with a man in it."I`m often met by aggressive shouts of "shut up,person of the book."
We also are subject to minor earthquakes and tremors. These are not to be taken as something to fear though, this is just an obvious side effect of millions of our forefathers turning in their graves. They are particularly violent come VE day,and at 11am on the 11th of november, but yet, so comforting.
Well, that`s my report from frontline Europe concluded.I`m going to indulge in a spot of reading,a friend of mine recently appropriated an old printing press, our news is better than their news, and anyway,i`m sure arabic is not meant to be deciphered by our deficent minds.
I might even take in a little TV later,we`re limited to 1 channel,Al-jazeera,but it`s nice and kind of liberating not to have to put up with the islamic predjudices and propaganda of the BBC.
Ps.If any of our American cousins would like to organise an evacuation,i could get together family and friends` and meet you at Plymouth.I`d suggest perhaps during Ramadan, lack of sustenance tends to deprieve them of focus and energy.Obviously,i`d appreciate the delicious irony of being rescued in a boat named the Mayflower. As for my final destination,Maine appeals to the senses. As old England passes into history,New England beckons.
Yours sincerely,a patriotic Brit, replete with redoubtable stiff upper lip, resorting to gallows humour, but who will remain ever vigilant in the defence of our island, people, history and culture.
Keep up the good fight.God bless America, and enlighten "articulate idiot`s"

Yhello Mole, Thank you for the tongue-in-cheek smile. I hope the future is not as you picture it, although your local Jihadists are obviously planning it that way.

We are busy at presence digging a tunnel to evacuate certain hostages in NYC, but we can continue under the North Atlantic Ocean after that. Our combined efforts from the Mid West and the Southern states (AKA Flyover country) has been going on for some months now and we are fast approaching Harrisburg, PA, the fork in our "Great Escape" tunnel. If we can pipe your fresh water back to our bunker fortress, we can easily hold out for some time while we push back the liberal and Moslem hordes.

One day soon we will break through to Plymonth in a Mayflower moving van and rescue you.

to the mole, i love your understated british sense of humor. sometime ago, it had been rumoured that the british were the ten lost tribes of israel. i think this was based on the fact that the british are relatively few in number, living on a tiny island, yet have contributed so much to science, mathematics, literature, music, religion, and other cultural phenomena. they have also produced some of the greatest political leaders in history, such as oliver cromwell, benjamin disraeli, alfred balfour, winston churchill, margaret thatcher, and tony blair.
this actually ties into what i want to talk about here. i have heard of melanie philips' book Londonistan, i have heard of the tragedy of those dozens of people murdered by the islamofacists on that british subway, i have heard about imams in mosques in england itself openly preaching the violent overthrow of england. i have also, unfortunately, heard of the antisemites ken livingstone, cherie blair, and george galloway.
my question is, why does great britain put up with it? do they want shakespeare and milton dickens and joyce and replaced with mohammed, camels, caves, hate, rocks, and murder? see, i am all for western-style tolerance, but where i draw the line is when a free society will be destroyed by that tolerance. tolerating not only evil, but insanely violent evil, is simply not smart. i call for the british to simply throw out the moslems entirely from their country; if anybody screams intolerance, that is just too bad. let them holler all they want; better that the british retake control of their own society.
oh, by the way, i am not sure i would have supported the revolutionaries in our war against england. in retrospect, i am glad we won, because our taxes and level of socialism is lower here, but i still do not think that our disagreements with king george warranted violence.

Well miss Rizkalla, most of the people in that part of the world wana come to north america or west europe regardsless of religious or else background. but when a person from minority group leaves a country like ur father did, they blame the miss-treatment of majority. If ur father were forced to leave a well off country for some backword one then ur point would have carried weight. There are still hundreds of thausands of christians living in middle east and egypt, we never heard that muslim mob went to their homes after 67 war and did masacare of them. Secondly, with preconcieved prejudice you can get all kind of quotations that support ur preconcieved views as u have done during this debate by playing some of hardliners. Do they represent whole muslims?
