"Lores from LA--the rising star of talk radio today!!"--Sean Hannity

"Lores Rizkalla Live is just what radio needs--fun, fast-paced, hard-hitting commentary with a new voice and a rising talent." --Hugh Hewitt

Too Much...

Just checking in to apologize for over a week of silence. Painting an entire house, going out of town for a family wedding and then having family staying with us (while I continue to go to work every day) has made for a whirlwind that has burned me out. I look forward to being back here soon.

On the Air Thursday

I'd like to take a moment to update you on the latest in my world.

I'm married to a wonderful man, enjoying and adjusting to Houston...although I don't know if it's possible to ever adjust to the heat and humidity here! I'm loving my brand new life.

And, I just had a meeting with some great people over at KTRH 740 AM and will be filling in for one of their local hosts, Michael Barry.

Listen live this Thursday, July 31 5-7pm Central time (that's 3-5pm for you in the Pacific Time Zone) on www.ktrh.com.

Where's NOW????

I'm appalled at the concept of a "suicide bomber," or what I prefer to call glorified murderers of any gender. But, every time I hear about another woman jihadist, I have to wonder what self-proclaimed women's advocates, like the National Organization for Women, sit around and talk about relative to the state of women in the Islamic culture.

Four women killed 57 people in Iraq today in suicide bomber mode.

How is it women could be so incredibly oppressed and yet still be deceived into thinking that there is some kind of honor or reward for murder? It's a sick world when mothers and grandmothers are strapping bombs to their little girls in the name of the religion and the culture that oppresses them all.

And, it's a shame on the women whose mission statement is the following (from www.now.org):

NOW is the largest, most comprehensive feminist advocacy group in the United States. Our purpose is to take action to bring women into full participation in society — sharing equal rights, responsibilities and opportunities with men, while living free from discrimination.

Yet, not ONE WORD about Muslim women. Shame on you, NOW.

Scary: Messianic Obama

“People of Berlin, people of the world, this is our moment. This is our time,” he declared, offering himself “not as a candidate for president, but as a citizen, a proud citizen of the United States and a fellow citizen of the world.”

This is scary!

The more he speaks, the more dangerous he sounds. I'd like a president who is an American citizen who submits to the Constitution of the United States. I'm not sure what laws a "citizen of the world" is supposed to respect, much less enforce as the First Citizen.

I fear for our nation if this man becomes president.

How Bout the 1st Amendment?

I am not a big Michael Savage fan. Honestly, I'm not much of a Savage fan at all. However, for as much as he makes outrageous and inappropriate statements about all kinds of groups all the time, it's always interesting to see who and what topics get the "liberal" Left up in arms about pulling him off the air. This time he made a statement about autism.

I just so happened to hear a few minutes of his show the other day and heard him talk about what he believes about the hyper-diagnosing and prescribing in our culture...and autism in that context. I may not agree with what he said the first time (at least that one sentence that is being repeated everywhere). "In 99 percent of the cases, it's a brat who hasn't been told to cut the act out."

Two things:

1. In context what he said is not so radical afterall. Is it not INSANE that one in 150 children is being diagnosed with autism?! Something is very strange about that statistic and I appreciate Savage's attempt to challenge the inanity of those numbers.

2. Even if he were completely off--in context--he has the same right to speak is mind (however crazy the rest of us might deem his opinion) that someone like, hmmmm.....Jesse Jackson does! Isn't it interesting that we didn't hear anyone call for Jackson to "step down" from whatever that position is that he has when he used the N-word on Fox news recently. What irony
that the Left is throwing a tantrum over a wild, strongly opinionated, often offensive talk radio host challenging autism diagnoses while they sit back and implicitly condone the nation's preeminent "black leader" for using the N-word.

Hypocrisy!

McDonald's Busted! It's About Time

I'm so very happy to report on this story. Not because McDonald's continues to be of the biggest beneficiaries of America's addiction to junk food. No. One of the franchises has pleaded guilty to hiring 58 illegal aliens. I'd like to see many more of these raids. Not to bring down any particular business and not to hurt people who want a better life. Simply to enforce and respect the laws of our land and to reward those who want a better life and are respecting our laws at the same time....because the two are not mutually exclusive.

I'd like to see both McCain and Obama comment on the benefits of law enforcement relative to the crisis we face with illegal immigration. I won't hold my breath!

Shocking! Hillary to Run in 2008....NOT

Have a seat before you read this piece of news...Can you believe that Hillary is actually THINKING about running in 2012?!

Ok. Ok. So, it's really not news at all. But, it's worth noting that someone eyeing the White House in 4 years is not going to be the biggest cheerleader for her own party's current nominee.

Obama and the New Yorker

Have you seen the cover of the New Yorker?

The New Yorker is hardly a bastion of radical right wing fanatics. It might be a bit over the top to depict the senator and his wife this way. But, the image of radical Michelle and turbin-headed Barack must be making headway nationally.

My husband says this picture is compliments of Hillary Clinton!

Tony Snow Dies

Tony Snow passed away today. My heart and prayers go out to his friends and family.

The world, the media, the conservative movement has suffered a major loss.

Celebrating the Life of a Murderer?

The relatives of one of the July 7, 2005 London bombings honored the life of their family member-murderer on the same day relatives of his victims remembered their loved ones. As though the act of homicide bombing weren't bad enough, it's revolting to see people (related or not) celebrate the murderer!

Sick!
